The following is a list of common aesthetic dentistry options
1. Cosmetic Tooth Filling
A dental cement should blend with the natural tooth not only in strength but also in its look, so that its impossible to recognize a foreign material placement in the tooth.
Replacing older filling material previously commonly known as silver which would stand out in dentition. These replacement cement fillings make a person conscious in public while smiling or talking.
We are placing high strength and excellent tooth colored filling materials.
- Nano hybrid composites- these are modern day filling materials which are excellent in their function as well as in looks. All shades of natural dentition are available. These are technique sensitive in placement and these material we are proudly using for our esteemed patients so they shouldnot be conscious in public while smiling or speaking.
- GIC fillings- these are less technique sensitive and are tooth colored filling materials. These are quick to place and also has anticarious property.
- Zirconium/porcelain crowns-an excellent replacement option for badly damaged or large carious tooth or in RCT treated tooths. These can be made in various shades of natural tooth color. They are also mechanically strong.
2. Veneers & Iaminates
- Porcelain Veneers are a rapid, aesthetic, and safe way to correct unattractive front teeth. Porcelain veneers correct heavy permanent stains, teeth that are crooked, disproportionate, small (with spaces), and structurally damaged. Porcelain veneers are shells of ceramic material that can be chemically bonded to tooth structure. Porcelain veneer technique utilizes the bonding capability of these materials to securely attach a thin shell of porcelain (the porcelain veneer) to a tooth. Although porcelain is inherently brittle, when it is firmly bonded to a sturdy substructure (a tooth) it becomes very strong and durable.
- Laminates are most easily described as a "fingernail" of porcelain that is bonded onto the tooth surface. If you have a chipped tooth or your teeth have a lot of spaces in between them laminates could be a treatment of choice. The teeth need to be prepared slightly in preparation for a laminate and then it is fabricated in the dental laboratory to custom match the adjacent teeth
3. Scaling & Polishing
We brush our teeth daily but that wont remove some of hard stains which are deposited due to tea, coffee, smoking or other habits. Such stains are removed by ultrasonic scalers which works very fast to change your smile to one in a brighter & sparkling smile. This procedure not only clean the tooth but also prevents from many other teeth related diseases such as tooth decay and tooth loosening.
So one should visit every six months for prophylactic teeth cleaning.
4. Tooth Whitening Why Should I Whiten My Teeth?
Maybe you've always wanted a beautiful white smile. Or your teeth have yellowed over time. Or you're not happy with the staining that results from drinking coffee, tea or cola. Whatever your reason for wanting whiter teeth, you're not alone.
Just like we all have different hair and skin color, people also have different tooth color. Some teeth are more yellow than others, while others yellow with aging. Your natural tooth color can also be affected by many factors.
Surface stains and internal discoloration can be caused by:
- The natural aging process
- Using tobacco (smoked or chewed), drinking coffee, tea, colas or red wine, and eating pigmented foods such as cherries and blueberries
- Accumulation of plaque and tartar deposits
- Ingesting too much fluoride (more than 2 parts fluoride per million parts water) when teeth are forming, which gives teeth a "mottled" look
- Treatment with the antibiotic tetracycline during childhood
- Trauma to the teeth that may cause a brown, gray or black color
There are many reasons for whitening your teeth, including:
- The boost to your confidence and self-esteem that comes from a great smile
- A younger appearance
- A special event such as a wedding, job interview or class reunion
- To make a positive first impression on others
- To simply reverse years of everyday staining and yellowing
Before beginning any whitening procedure, be sure to consult us. Only we can evaluate whether you're a suitable candidate for a particular treatment.
t-home whitening
At-home whitening is the more popular approach today. we take an impression of your teeth and makes a custom-fitted tray, which you fill with a whitening gel and wear up to two hours daily or at night for about two weeks. Many whitening kits today contain a solution of 10-15% carbamide peroxide. When done under the supervision of us, at-home whitening is very effective.
In-office whitening
Quick and effective procedure. This procedure takes from 30 minutes to one hour per visit, and you may have to return for several visits to achieve the desired whiteness. To protect your mouth, a gel-like substance may be applied to your gums and a rubber "shield" may be placed around the necks of the teeth. An oxidizing agent (the bleaching solution) is then applied to your teeth. Sometimes, a special light is used at five-minute intervals to help activate the whitening agent.
Will My Newly Whitened Teeth Stain?
Any tooth can stain. To help prevent stains from coming back, avoid smoking, coffee, tea, red wine and heavily colored foods. And brush your teeth twice a day with a whitening tooth paste.
5. Smile Designing
Smile design principles can first be divided into three main categories:
- White esthetics, i.e. dentition characteristics
- Pink esthetics, i.e. lips and gingival tissue characteristics.
- Black esthetics, i.e. missing teeth, buccal corridor collapse.
So in designing a smile we correct all the deficiencies to make a patient smile in a better way.
6. Gum Depigmentation
Many persons have white and bright smile but the color of gums is not pink, which makes the smile not pleasing. These dark colored gum people are conscious for their smile. We have expert who makes the the gum looking pink again by a short duration painless cosmetic surgical procedure.
7. Dental Jewelry- enhanced Sparkle For Your Teeth
Dental jewelry adds extra sparkle into more and more smiles. jewels are applied to the labial surfaces of upper anterior teeth. The trend is catching up with youngsters. If somebody thinks he or she was better off without tooth jewellery, it can be easily removed without any side effects on the dental tooth structure as the procedure is non-invasive. What's more, tooth jewellery can be fixed again at a later stage.
